Where to live in London
Prime Central London, neighbourhood by neighbourhood.
My agents focus on Prime Central London, around Hyde Park and the royal parks, as well as a few family neighbourhoods a little further west. Each address has its own atmosphere: here is how I see them.
The historic heartMayfair and Belgravia
London's most prestigious addresses, between Hyde Park, Green Park and Buckingham Palace. Townhouses around Belgravia's private garden squares, exceptional apartments in Mayfair, and new-build residences offering five-star-hotel service: concierge, security, spa.
Ideal for: townhouses, exceptional apartments, serviced residences.
Elegant LondonChelsea and South Kensington
White stucco townhouses, leafy garden squares, museums and boutiques. South Kensington is also home to the Lycée Français Charles de Gaulle, much loved by French-speaking families.
Ideal for: families, townhouses, neighbourhood life.
Gardens and villasNotting Hill and Bayswater
Notting Hill's famous villas and apartments on private communal gardens, its colourful streets and its market. And Bayswater, north of Hyde Park, increasingly sought after for its large apartments and new prime developments.
Ideal for: private gardens, charm, space.
Village spiritMarylebone
A true village in the heart of London: Marylebone High Street, its cafés and shops, steps from Regent's Park. An address that is both central and peaceful.
Ideal for: neighbourhood life, apartments, the parks.
Central calmPimlico
Rows of white Georgian and Victorian houses, quiet streets, close to Westminster and the Thames. A more discreet alternative to neighbouring Belgravia and Chelsea.
Ideal for: calm, understated elegance, townhouses.
FamiliesFulham and Parsons Green
Further west, around Parsons Green: beautiful family houses with gardens, a village atmosphere and many schools. Some of my searches focus here.
Ideal for: houses with gardens, families, schools.
